Carina, David and Maali. Our company was born out of our love of travel, creativity and connection with other people. 

MalaSari's roots go back to a time when Carina backpacked alone for six months through Southeast Asia. During this trip, she began making mala necklaces and fell in love with the craftsmanship and spirituality behind them. 

When David came along on a trip to Asia in 2019, we started making bracelets together and our passion for handmade jewelry grew.

 In 2020, during a stay in Sardinia, we decided to take home not only our bags but also Maali, our daughter, because I was already pregnant. In 2021 Ibiza was our home, where Maali Ila Ocean was born. These trips not only shaped us, but also influenced our products and our philosophy of life.

 In 2023 we finally opened our “Heart” Quarter - our around-the-world concept store in Krems. Why “Around the World”? Because we are passionate globetrotters and bring many of our products with us from the countries we travel to. We not only look for unique finds, but also consciously enter into collaborations with local craftsmen and artists.

 Our online shop is divided into different countries to reflect the diversity of our travels and our range of products. But MalaSari is more than just a shop - it is a place of inspiration, exchange, and community. That's why we have decided to also offer a small travel guide on our website, which includes tips and recommendations for various cities and countries, especially for traveling with children.

 Another important aspect of our website is the 'Community Space' category, where we introduce our friends and partners who, just like us, pursue their own projects with passion and dedication. We believe in the power of community and want to contribute to strengthening and promoting it.
